Summary: This article will show you how to use the On demand audience tracking dashboard and help you set the right parameters to get charts per minute, hour, day or month respectively.
Access the On demand Audience dashboard
The On demand audience dashboard of a session can be accessed via the theicon on the right-hand-side of the On demand session box. The default date and time range are set from the ending time of the Live session until now (the time you're making the request)
The Dashboard will open as follows: (In this example, the live event was over at 13:00 2022/9/16 and the query was requested on 2022/9/25
With this default selection as the period range is of 9 days, the chart shows the number of views per day as well. The TOTAL VIEWS, UNIQUE USERS and AVERAGE VIEWING TIME correspond to the selected timeframe.
As a rule of thumb, you will get a chart:
- By the HOUR if the timeframe is of less than 3 DAYS
- By the DAY if the timeframe is between 4 and 55 DAYS
- By the MONTH if the timeframe is more than 55 DAYS
The current data selection for the charts is detailed on the upper part of the page. Let's check the defaults and see what can be tweaked:
- REPORT is set to "On demand" traffic only
- PERIOD covers the period from the end time of the session until the moment you make the request. You can adjust it to get different charts for different timeframes as explained above
- LANGUAGE: By default set to "All languages". If the event had different languages you can select a single one or all of them.
- ACCESS LINK: By default set to "All access links". Even though the chart shows the bars split in colors for each separate access link you might prefer to get a chart of a single one.
If you want to check the Live analytics, you could certainly set all these parameters to the right values for your query. An easier way though, would be to click over theicon of the Live session. Doing this you will get the right defaults for that query.
